Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole is the dish everyone is expecting on the holidays, but it is so easy to make, you can serve it any day. My green bean casserole recipe consist mostly of cooked green beans, cream of mushroom soup, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese and French fried onions. It is a very popular side dish for Thanksgiving dinners in the United States. The recipe was created in 1955 by Dorcas Reilly at the Campbell Soup Company

Ready to make the best scrumptious green bean casserole? Creamy mushroom sauce surrounded by tender green beans, topped with the crunchy flavor of French’s Crispy Fried Onions, crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese make this holiday casserole an instant classic. You can use fresh, frozen or canned green beans for this dish. Just add a dash (or two) of black pepper to kick up the spice in this family favorite. This simple holiday recipe is ready in just 40 minutes – for a Thanksgiving dinner full of flavor the family will remember for years.

My trick for this is adding an extra can of Cream of Mushroom, crumbled bacon topping and extra French’s fried onions to enhance the flavor too! For storing, let the dish cool to room temperature, then cover tightly with foil and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Also for reheating, to preserve the delightful combination of creamy green beans and crunchy topping, it’s best to reheat green bean casserole in the oven. Cover the casserole dish with foil to prevent the topping from burning. Heat for about 20-30 minutes at 350º
